I grew up in East Tennessee, spending most of my childhood in roughly the same location and circumstances as the Beverly Hillbillies. But when I turned 23 (back in 2002) I drove my old van straight to San Francisco, where it proceeded to break down the minute I arrived, making it clear that both fate and AAA felt this was where I belonged.

Since then I've become a technical writer and producer, creating guides and how-to videos for numerous companies that have been read / watched by millions of people; directed four short films and a feature (which is in post-production now) that have played in festivals around the world; and spoken at over a thousand conferences, webcasts, webinars, and podcasts, attended by anywhere from 20 to 2000 people live and heard by several million people in recorded form.
